- Tony Meisels represented a client who was acquitted last week on 9 counts of indecency with a child and sexual activity with a child, following a six-day trial at Northampton Crown Court. The abuse was alleged to have occurred over a seven-year period, the complainant being a close female relative of our client. The advocate in this case was James McCrindell at 23 Essex Street.
- Sean and James Reilly acted for a client who was accused by her former employer of blackmail. The dispute between them arose over unpaid salary owed to her client. She had previously been represented by two other firms of solicitors, both of whom advised her to plead guilty. As a result of robust and thorough defence work, including a determined approach to the issue of Criminal disclosure, they discovered messages and correspondence which supported our client’s defence and which the Police had overlooked. The Jury took only two minutes to acquit our client. She was delighted.
