Layna represented an individual against whom the Crown sought a confiscation order in the sum of £147, 677.58 on the basis that they believed him to have enjoyed a criminal lifestyle.
She painstakingly analysed his: accounts; employment history; tax records and loan agreements to prove that he did not have any unexplained income. As a result the Crown eventually and reluctantly conceded the lifestyle point and that he had not benefited from criminal conduct.
