• An ex pat Dubai businessman who faced a VAT fraud investigation; after giving a full interview to HMRC, followed by detailed representations, HMRC dropped the investigation.
• A commodities trader facing an allegation of dishonesty; once more after full representations were made to the investigating authority, the allegation was dropped.
• A finance professional awaiting trial and facing both allegations of conspiracy to defraud and POCA offences; ongoingfor almost 12 months, once the CPS had eventually served the prosecutions papers in this multi defendant prosecution, it was obvious that a strong submission of no case to answer (coupled with strong representations) should be made. After a detailed letter was sent to the CPS, upon receipt they agreed that the prosecution should be dropped against our client on the last working day before trial! The advocate in the case was the excellent Mark Cotter of Counsel.
