sex offencesTony represented a client who faced four allegations of rape made by his ex-partner. On the fourth day of the trial at Winchester CC, the Crown, realising the weakness of their case, invited the judge to withdraw these counts from the jury who were directed to return not guilty verdicts. The defendant also faced lesser offences also of a sexual nature to which he pleaded guilty and received a community order. Counsel in this case was the very experienced Dee Connolly of 33 Bedford Row.
